Atlassian used its Team ’26 Europe conference in Amsterdam to showcase significant updates to its rapidly expanding Service Collection suite. According to Shamik Sharma, Head of Product for Service Collection, modern enterprises face immense pressure regarding internal and external service delivery. Citing a recent Forrester Consulting study, Sharma noted that 97% of enterprise leaders struggle to meet service expectations, while the adoption of agentic artificial intelligence for service tasks is projected to surge significantly over the coming year.

Enhancing Service Management with Workforce Automation

To address these operational hurdles, Atlassian introduced several core updates designed to streamline routing and deployment. The newly unveiled Workforce Management capability within Jira Service Management integrates real-time availability, team capacity tracking, and skill-based routing. This system automatically matches incoming requests to the appropriate personnel, ensuring tasks land with the right expert at the right moment without manual triage.

Another major addition is Solution Composer, a tool currently in open beta. Setting up tailored service desks typically requires weeks of manual configuration, from establishing knowledge bases to defining complex permissions. Solution Composer leverages the company’s Rovo artificial intelligence framework to bypass configuration screens. Administrators can describe their requirements using natural language, and the intelligence engine automatically orchestrates the necessary workflows, request types, service-level agreements, and portals in seconds.

Proactive Monitoring and Asset Management

Atlassian also previewed Proactive Service Management through its Early Access Program. This capability uses background software running on endpoint devices to monitor hardware and network health continuously. By detecting potential failures—such as memory shortages or Wi-Fi degradation—the system transmits diagnostic data to the central platform and initiates automated fixes before the user experiences a disruption.

  • Automated scheduling and skill-based routing optimize team capacity.
  • Natural language processing configures service desks instantly through Solution Composer.
  • Endpoint monitoring detects hardware issues before failures impact productivity.

These capabilities tie directly into the platform’s native asset and configuration database. The updated hardware asset management module introduces automated discovery and lifecycle management. Built-in consoles allow administrators to map physical IT inventory, track equipment locations, and automate procurement workflows when supplies run low. By connecting physical inventory directly into service workflows, organizations gain deeper visibility into their hardware estates and can address looming shortages or expiring warranties proactively.
