Datamaran, an environmental, social, and governance software analytics platform provider, has announced the rollout of a new capability called Applicability Assessment. The launch is structured to help enterprises determine which regulatory mandates apply to their operations across various corporate entities and international jurisdictions.
The newly unveiled feature integrates into the company’s Regulatory Monitoring Platform, which originally debuted earlier in the year to assist firms in tracking and managing evolving sustainability rules. According to leadership at the analytics provider, many multinational enterprises have historically depended on manual reviews to parse through hundreds of distinct laws, repeating the cumbersome process whenever legislative frameworks shift.
Streamlining Multi-Jurisdiction Compliance Workflows
The assessment tool permits businesses to evaluate numerous corporate entities simultaneously against both active and pending mandatory rules. Each evaluated requirement is categorized clearly using specific determinations to simplify complex legal obligations for internal teams:
- Classified as likely to apply based on specific operational parameters.
- Marked as unlikely to apply for entities operating outside targeted sectors or regions.
- Labeled as uncertain to apply when criteria require further internal review.
Along with these categorical determinations, the software provides a detailed explanation of the criteria utilized to reach each conclusion. This automated insight is intended to save legal, compliance, and sustainability departments significant time during routine audits and regulatory reviews.
Automated Entity Profiles and Monitoring Dashboards
To support large-scale deployment, the system incorporates automatically populated corporate profiles. These digital records aggregate vital data points, including headquarters locations, operational countries, industry sectors, annual revenue figures, and total employee headcounts. Users can organize these entities flexibly by geographic region, specific business units, or designated supplier tiers.
Furthermore, the platform features centralized dashboards designed to track regulatory exposure, pinpoint missing information gaps, and monitor ongoing legislative changes over time. An upcoming expert review function is also planned to support internal teams in validating assessment outcomes.
Marjella Lecourt-Alma, chief executive officer and co-founder of Datamaran, noted that legal and compliance departments frequently express a fundamental need for direct clarity regarding legislative mandates. The newly introduced software aims to deliver that information rapidly and reliably at scale.
